Thankyou

Joining the blogging community, in particular meeting Christian blogging ladies, has opened a whole new world for me.  I have very few Christian friends, in fact I am related to most (!), therefore the fellowship and encouragement I receive from other Christian ladies is so important. So THANK YOU.  On particular lady has been very encouraging and I have thoroughly enjoyed reading her blog - so if you haven't visited Mrs Mara Wildflower's blog (link), please do, she is a lovely lady full of encouragment to other women like us.

Mrs Mara Wildflower ran a little giveaway just before Christmas and I was honoured to receive one of the her gifts.   It arrived in the post yesterday and I opened it with much excitement.

It is a beautiful hard-covered book full of cookie recipes which I can't wait to make (and share with you).  Do come and visit and we can enjoy afternoon tea together.
However with 100 recipes to choose from, it is very difficult to make a decision on what to make first. However I did like this one - I love peanut butter cookies, but I don't own grape jelly, so I might have to find something else that goes with peanut butter - perhaps quince jelly or apple jelly?
This one looks good -  I love coffee flavoured food, but who could go past the double choc cookie or the snickerdoodles cookie full of pecan nuts and cinnamon. Do you see my dilemma, where do I start?  When I buy a cookbook I usually sit on my favourite chair with my yellow sticky post-it notes and mark all the recipes I would like to make.  I usually end up with a book full of sticky labels!!

Once again

  1. I know what you mean about meeting Christian ladies to fellowship with online. I am not living nearby our church. I hardly have any associations at all with like minded ladies and I do feel blessed to have my bloggy friends. :)

And I know what you mean about not having many Christian friends outside of family if it weren't for blogging. I've been so thankful to meet so many lovely Christian women through blogging. :)
Jo - if you weren't related to me, I'd still be your friend... Just in case you wondered!! ;) hehe

  7. Thanks for the kind words, and I am glad that you are enjoying the cookbook. I am going to make the chocolate buttons first, but I forgot what page they are on. :)

Yes, having a community of like-minded Christian ladies in the Blogsphere is certainly a blessing, one for which I am grateful, for like yourself, I don't have many like-minded friends where I live either.

Blessings to you Dear Friend. :)

  8. I just love that dear Mara. She is a faithful friend. We like to borrow beautiful cookbooks like that from the library. The children drool over the pictures and we pick out a few recipes. Can't wait to hear about all the yummies you make.

  9. I know what you meant about the importance of having online friends of the same faith. I live in a country where there's only 1% Christian population so I don't get to enjoy the fellowship I used to back in my home country. Though I'm gaining wonderful local friends but I see my online friends also very important for mutual encouragement. They have become dear to me.

You may want to visit us over at http://celebratefriendship-ruth.blogspot.com. We would like to invite you to join us for Tea Talk on Thursdays. I see we both have common friend there :-)

I'll be hopping on to Mara's site from here. Thank you for the link. I enjoyed my visit today.

    Blessings for the new year!

  10. Hi Ruth, Lovely to meet you and thank-you for your comment.

Here I am feeling sad that I don't have many Christian friends nearby, but to be in a country were there are hardly any it must feel very strange indeed. I am so glad you are able to find fellowship online with other like minded women.

    In Gods Grace
