Exciting news . . .

My dear husband has been very busy for the last 3 weeks removing the garden down the side of our home (which involved 2 skips and a lot of work) in preparation for a studio to be built. The space is now ready (and gravelled) and on Wednesday Monday construction will commenced. Praise the Lord, as the company was able (without us asking) to bring the work forward by two days. This now means the flooring (floating timber) and painting won't have to be as rushed as we thought it might.

Flooring and paint arrived on Wednesday and the electrician on Thursday (today) to wire everything up and install safe lighting on the outside. Then a busy few days with painting (white inside and green outside).

Is it is a timber kit cabin and only took 2 days to complete. It is all very exciting as we are building the studio for our son so he can return home and have his own space. After 18 months of struggles, stress and anxiety leading to depression and a break-down, I am praying that this new arrangement will make his life so much easier and stress-free. At least he won't have the hassle of rentals, nasty landlords, uncertainly with finances and sharing with inconsiderate (selfish) young males. I am a much nicer landlord who bakes yummy food and does washing for free!! We are also providing a few additional bits of new furniture, including a desk for future studies, a 16 cube shelving to store his belongs and a large bookcase.  His grandfather has kindly sent birthday money for a new rug on the floor.  I think it will be a lovely space for him to rebuild his strength and find some peace and happiness.

Getting the fence replaced was part of the preparation for the new space.
Dear hubby is busy painting - I will share the finished room later and putting down a timber floor.

Does it remind you on a log cabin in the woods (a little Laura Ingell Wilder!!) - I would certainly love living in it, which isn't surprising as I always wanted to own a log cabin - now I do!! When our son moves out one day it will make a nice visitor retreat and perhaps a lovely quilting room/art studio/craft room etc..... !!!

    1. Now that it is painted and the curtains are up, it is a really lovely space :) Our son has moved about 3/4 of things in, just waiting on the bed and desk so he can move in completely.
