Art Friday: Alexander Volkov

Art Friday: Alexander Volkov

I love these and I hope you do to.

How has your week been?

My week has been a bit bumpy to say the least. I didn't enjoy watching the nasty fires burning in the Adelaide Hills (via the TV) which came very close to where my dad lives and my two brothers. I rang my dad each day to see how things were unfolding and making sure he was doing ok. The Lord watched over them and they have remained safe and the fire is no longer a threat.

It was my sister-in-law's birthday and I hear that she had a lovely day out with lunch, shopping and movie.

My son has been sleeping very badly (he suffers from chronic insomnia) but after a trip to his GP he has been a little better. He resigned his job this week, which we are all very pleased about as it was one of the causes of his anxiety/stress and depression. Now I wait on the Lord to see what the next chapter will bring.  Trusting in the Lord is critical.

We have had thunderstorms every afternoon bringing cooler weather and a little rain which has kept the hills green. Heavy rain is due for the weekend.

Work has been enjoyable and my colleagues are lovely as always so no complains. The workload has been quiet, which is usual for this time of the year. Even the roads are quiet so driving to and from work has been quite quick.

Saddened by international new this week of the 12 deaths in Paris, one never knows what each day will bring. We need to praise the Lord and make the most of what He gives.

But I am looking forward to the weekend as I have sewing planned and a book to read.

  1. Some beautiful artwork again. Glad to hear your family are safe from the fires and that your son has resigned from his job, its certainly not worth ill health.

    1. No job is worth ill health especially when the owners don't care. Have a wonderful weekend.

    1. Don't you think some look SO real - I love them too. As Mari said above - very clam and quiet.

Have a wonderful weekend and keep warm (I will keep dry as it will be very wet this weekend).

  5. Wow! These are great! I like the snowy ones best. They look so realistic they almost look like photographs instead of paintings.

  6. I can certainly relate in having a rough week. But, like yours, it is feeling better now. That beautiful art sure helped.
