Quilting project update

Finished and thrilled.

Ready for it's new owner, to keep her warm and cosy over winter.

There is nothing nicer than getting to the end of a large project and seeing how it all comes together.

The patchwork design is called "Movin' on up" by AmandaJean. Amanda Jean used a Modo pattern "Topsy Turvy Quilt" and turned it into her own design.

I did not quilt this - it has been done professionally by a lovely lady who owns an incredibly expensive quilting machine who can create the most amazing patterns (well, the computer does rather than humans!) that would be impossible for most to do at home - me anyway!!

I really like the fabric I selected for the back, almost gold in colour and will be so bright and cheery on a winters day.

All wrapped and ready to give to its new owner.

Now for the next project, or two!!

    1. My daughter-in-lawed loved it, but now my son (her husband) would like one. His won't be complicated, rather more to do with the superhero fabric I have selected and ordered. Just need to wait for it to arrive :))

    1. I made this for my daughter-in-law and she loved it. Now I have to make one for my son :)) I haven't used yellow much previously, but now that I have, I will certainly use it again because it is so cheery.

  8. What a lovely quilt and even though I am not a yellow person it looks great. Isn't it wonderful when you finish a project. I have just finished a quilt but I haven't given it to the person it is going to yet so I can't put up a post yet. Hopefully soon. Thanks for sharing this part of your life with us at Good Morning Mondays and for giving us the inspiration to get things done. Blessings to you Jo

    1. I don't wear yellow *(it makes me look unwell), but the walls in my kitchen and living room are yellow and I find it very cheerful. I can't wait to see your quilt :))

  9. Fabulous quilt. I really like the effect of having a swirled quilting pattern against the straight lines of the rectangle. My daughter made a quilt last year with a yellow gold back. I really liked it.
