Safety in Christ
The Lord is my light and my salvation;
whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the strength of my life;
of whom shall I be afraid?
Though an host should encamp against me,
my heart shall not fear:
though war should rise against me,
in this will I be confident.
One thing have I desired of the LORD,
that will I seek after;
that I may dwell in the house of the LORD
all the days of my life,
and to inquire in his temple.
PSALMS 27:1, 3-4
GOD is my strong salvation,
What foe have I to fear?
In darkness and temptation,
My light, my help, is near.
Though hosts encamp around me,
Firm to the fight I stand,
What terror can confound me
With God at my right hand?

Jo,
ReplyDeleteThis lovely verse reminds me of another one:
"The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?" (Hebrews 13:6)
I remember saying this verse over and over to myself several years ago when I had to get my first root canal and I was quite scared. It worked though, for the Lord helped me to be calm and gave me peace.

Lovely Psalm, it is my Husband favorite.
