Hello dear bloggers

Lots of sunshine over the weekend which we enjoyed by going for a long walk not that far from our home (I took the above photo on our walk). It feels like winter might just be coming to an end and I even saw daffodils in the garden and blossom on a tree down the road. I am not sure if it is just me, but even the birds sound more chirpy at the moment!  Maybe they know its getting warmer.

Charlie cat and I sat in the sunshine on Sunday afternoon soaking up the rays and it was so delicious.  I didn't want it to end!  I certainly got my dose of Vit D.

Another beautiful weekend.

It wasn't a busy weekend as I had done all the grocery shopping on Friday afternoon and the house didn't need anything major done.  And thanks to the invention of the washing machine, washing is quite a simple task these days - and with the sunny weather and a bit of wind both loads dried very well.

I did get out into the garden and planted the broad-beans (not that you can see anything in the photo!!). Forty seeds and if they all grow, that is a lot of broad-beans to freeze! The vegetables have all been fertilised and doing very well. The slightly warmer and sunnier days have made all the differences.

Brenin, one of our 2 male dobermans. He is wearing his new red coat which he loves as it keeps him warm at night.
Brenin is now fully recovered from his de-sexing operation he had in early August. He still can't jump up (but that is a positive) but he can now run about quite happily. Hopefully this is the end of major trips to the vet - he has turned out to be a costly dog after all the operations he has had.  For those in the USA, you will notice that our Dobermans in Australia do not have their ears clipped (its illegal) and in most states their tails are no longer docked.

This is one of my favourite spots in my house in the afternoon (and as you can see, Ruby's as well). The sun comes in through those windows and the view of the garden is lovely. Its perfect for an afternoon tea and a quiet read.

How was your weekend?  I hope it was as nice as mine.

In the coming week I am off to have my eyes tested and hopefully new glasses as I think my eyes have deteriorated and need something stronger.  On Friday evening I am going out for dinner with my theatre ladies and off to see a live production in the evening. The rest of the week will be as usual.

Rejoice in the Lord always, and again I say, Rejoice.

  2. These crisp days are beautiful. Looking forward to the Spring here as well. Your Brenin is a beautiful handsome dog. I do not like the clipped ears and tails so I am glad people don't do that here.
    Have a great week!

    1. I think it is very cruel to hurt the ears of dogs just for looks (there is no real purpose at all) - its very silly! Have a lovely week too.

    1. I love crisp nights/early mornings with beautiful clear skies during the day. However spring can be a mixed bag for us, a should be our wettest season. I do hope those beans grow as I would love to be able to freeze some.

      Blessings for the week ahead

  5. Jo- that's such a beautiful sunny spot in your kitchen-- I'd love to have a little place like that. No wonder your sweet kitty likes it there!!

Ugh-- we've racked up lots of vet bills here also--- there is nothing more expensive than a free pet---

Fall is just around the corner here--

    1. Thankyou Vicki for dropping by:)) Love hearing from you. Our dog has now fully recovered, in fact he did very well and all our concerns were for nothing as he didn't even lick the area which was wonderful.

Ruby loves to sit at that table and look out of the window she loves to see what is happening in a world she isn't allowed to be in - but she finds it all too scary.
