Hymn: All things bright and beautiful
All things bright and beautiful
By Cecil Frances Alexander (1818-95)
A simple hymn to remind us all that God was the creator of all Heaven and Earth
For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.
Colossians 1:16
*****
All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful,
The Lord God made them all.
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful,
The Lord God made them all.
Each little flower that opens,
Each little bird that sings,
Each little bird that sings,
God made their glowing colours;
God made their tiny wings. [Refrain]
The purple-headed mountain,
the river running by,
the sunset, and the morning
that brightens up the sky: [Refrain]
The cold wind in the winter,
the pleasant summer sun,
the ripe fruits in the garden,
God made them every one. [Refrain]
God gave us eyes to see them,
and lips that we might tell
how great is God Almighty,
who has made all things well.
All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful,
The Lord God made them all.
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful,
The Lord God made them all.

Hello Jo, Thank YOU that was beautiful! Also, I think your new little cabin arrangements will be so helpful for your son. And hopefully give you some peace. I think that is so cute and cozy looking
ReplyDeleteHave a great week! Yours, Roxy
Thankyou for dropping by and so glad you enjoyed that hymn.
DeleteI think my son will love his new home and having us close will help him too.
Have a wonderful week.
One of my favourite hymns.
ReplyDelete:)
DeleteA beautiful hymn and good reminder.
ReplyDeleteAlso it makes me think of the very entertaining James Herriot books. :-)
I love the James Herriot and influenced us slightly when we named our eldest Tristan!!
DeleteWell, I'm kind of glad you chose Tristan and not Siegfried. :-) Somehow it has a better ring to me, plus I'm never sure quite how to pronounce Siegfried. :-)
Delete:))))
DeleteInterestingly Tristan isn't as uncommon as it use to be . A lady at work just called her baby girl "Clementine Aurora!? What do you think of that name!!
Oh, that name is *horrible*, Jo!! I do wonder how people feel about strange names like that when they get older!!!
DeleteThe mum has already shortened the name to Clem:( Some children like the uniqueness of their name. But it can be painful to have to spell or pronunce it continuously .
DeleteBeautiful hymn, Jo! :) He surely did make all things beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAnd sometimes we just don't even notice it.
DeleteLovely pics! And great hymn too =)
ReplyDeletelove,
Bets
I had fun choosing the photos!! to go with the words.
