Art Friday: Ribbon embroidery

Art Friday: Ribbon embroidery

Some people are so talented and these examples below of ribbon embroidery is just amazing. I can't even start to decide which is my favourite, they all are!! And as far as I am concerned, this is art — as good as anything on canvas. Perhaps one day I will learn how to do it.

Do enjoy.

  1. Ribbon embroidery is so beautiful! It's like 3-D painting! I would love to do it too, but I'm just not sure if I would really work on it. Also I think I looked into it once and the supplies seemed pricey to me at that time. Ah well. One can't do everything. :-) But I think it's so lovely and enjoyed this post very much. Thank you.

    1. I am like you, can't do everything even though I would like to try!!! I think I will just admire it from a distances and marvel at the talent of the ladies who do it rather than give it a try myself :))

  2. Oh, I just LOVE ribbon embroidery and would LOVE the learn it - perhaps sometime in the future though because I have plenty on my plate just now!!! I recently was handed-down a vest that Nana made which has beautiful ribbon embroidery on it. I shall have to show it to you sometime. It is exquisite!

    2. I'm sure she would like to... She's a lot like me though - already has so many hobbies that there's never enough time to do them all!!!!! Maybe we'll learn it together one day. :)
