Art Friday: A boy and his dog

A Boy And His Dog. Norman Percevel Rockwell

Art Friday: A boy and his dog

A few weeks ago I did a Art Friday called "Girls and Cats" and one young man was a little sad and requested I do one all about boys and their dogs. This is for you David.

You will notice that most of these paintings are either by Norman Rockwell or Jim Daly — they both have a large and beautiful collection of paintings of boys and their dogs going off on fabulous adventures and getting up to all sorts of mischief. At the end of the day, both dog and his best friend need a long rest.

Happy Friday:)

  4. These are GREAT! I have a boy here who is like these - I often watch my boy with his dog! Well, the dog belongs to all of us, but he LOVES her and plays with her or has her by his side frequently. I especially love the painting of the boy in the tyre swing, and the two of the back of the little cowboy. Those are so gorgeous!
My boy loves playing hide-and-seek with Misty, and she is so clever at finding him and loves the game too - she gets very excited when she finds him in his hiding place!! So fun for them and for me to watch!!

    1. It is wonderful to have a tight bond between an animal and a child - it not only provides friendship and a best friend, but teachers them to treat animals with respect and kindness too. Furry animals are such an additional to any family :))
