Gods beauty: Amaryllis in flower

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.

Philippians 4:8

These lovely flowers are from my garden and give such a lovely pink splash among the greenery.

I look around, and everywhere I can see,
The beauty of God's Creation smiling back at me.

A precious baby with velvety soft skin,
Wiggling its tiny hands and feet,
On its face an adorable grin.

First morning dew on a pink rose;
A beautiful butterfly drawing to it close.

The sun's golden rays gently warming the ground;
Luscious plants covering the soil abound.

Humming birds singing high up in the tree;
White sand glistening in the turquoise sea.

Snow capped mountains, so majestically high;
A colourful rainbow adorning the afternoon sky.

Countless stars above, sparkling oh so bright,
Decorating the horizon and illuminating the night

Thank you, Dear Lord, for giving me another day,
To enjoy the beauty of Your Creation,

And to worship You and pray.

  1. A wonderful verse to keep in mind when our minds are tempted to fear or think on things that are ugly or sinful...
    Those flowers are SUCH a pretty pink! They are lovely indeed! :)
    And that is a really lovely poem, as well.
    Have a wonderful day x

    1. They are beautiful and they last a few weeks too, plenty of time to enjoy their pretty feminine colour. You too have a wonderful day - what is left of it :)

  2. Beautiful post. The flowers are so pretty.

    1. They are so feminine and pink and last a few weeks which is great too !!!

  3. That passage from Phil 4:8 is well thumbed in my own book. It's such a wonderful and beautiful reminder for living a beautiful life.

    Your pink amaryllis is just beautiful. Such a colour!

    Wishing you glimpses of heaven in unexpected places...

    1. It is a great colour :) I too love that verses and its such a good one to keep on revisiting (like so many others !!

  4. That verse is always so encouraging, especially for people like me who tend to "think" a lot.
    The flowers are so beautiful, what a gorgeous colour!

    1. It is a great verse - just think about the good things - which can be hard to do, I have just watched the news and heard about the deaths in Turkey, more on the Ivory Coast, the 1000s of people in Europe wanting to make a better life - it is doom and gloom where ever you look :(

      The pink is so vibrant and pink!!
