Trust in the Lord

I was writing in my journal yesterday evening and the news came on - I heard the newsreader announcing that the Australian people would be going to a Federal Election in 5 weeks (21st of August) to select a new government to lead this nation.  Both leaders of our major parties were then interviewed and they used the words "trust me".  I chuckled to myself as at that very moment I was writing the following verses into my journal.

“Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength” Isaiah 26:4

“It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man” Psalms 118:8

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5

Sorry politicians - my trust is not with man, but with the Lord Jesus Christ - my heavenly father. It doesn't take very long to find the words "Trust in the Lord", they are repeated time and time again in the Bible.  When a politician says "trust me" (on either side of politics) we know that they will break their promises, however we are 100% certain the the Lord will NEVER break His PROMISE to us.  And what a comfort that is - He is my refuge and my fortress, no man can bet that.

“The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer ; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust ; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.” Psalms 18:2
“I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.” Psalms 91:2

  4. Isn't the Lord wonderful, how He brings things to our attention like that - some would say it was a coincidence that you were writing those verses at the time you heard the politicians say those words... But nothing is a coincidence. God maps everything out perfectly - every tiny detail!
I love those verses you put in this post - all of them!
And that picture is cute!! :)

  7. Indeed. As we joke around here; no matter who you vote for a politician always gets in. Thank goodness God is the same yesterday, today & forever!
