Happy birthday dear

Yesterday was my husband's birthday and as I was home on holidays we went out for lunch to celebrate.  It was lovely to spend time together, away from the house and other distractions and enjoy each others company. We went to a country pub, so the food was pub food but still really nice. Unfortunately, a few items were off the menu as the poor owner had ended up in hospital after falling and his wife (who was the cook and everything else) hadn't had time to shop!! She was looking completely frazzled by midday. Nevertheless, the meal was enjoyable and I gave her lots of encouragement to help her get through the rest of the day.

Entree
DH had steak cooked on these hot rocks (sorry I forgot to take the photo until after we had eaten the meat!) and I had a tender lamb steak with salad and chips. The heat from the rocks was enough to keep me warm the whole meal. I even managed to fry my tomato on it as well.
Opposite the Inn was a very green lush looking oval surrounded by this old fence and some Oak Trees, a perfect place to pose!! My DH isn't fond of having his photo taken but today he was quite happy to co-operate!!
This is me, yes it was a little cold so a jumper was require.
No one!!  This is the photo I used in my 365 "photo a day" project. I just love the line of the fence and the shadow it makes on the ground.

And I can't end the week without sharing these cute photos.

Gaia (brown) and Brenin (Black) waiting for they doggy biscuits. At night they wear their coats to keep warm. Gaia loves his coat but in the morning after he has been running around and gets too hot, he takes it off and leaves in the corner of his kennel. How clever is that!!
As I opened the door to enter the kitchen this is what I came face-to-face with (which is why it is a little blurry)  - Ruby wanted to see what was happened outside so she was peering around the corner! She is sitting on the very top of her cat climber. She is off to the vet shortly to be immunised. Poor kitty!

HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEKEND WITH YOUR FAMILIES

and I will leave you with one of my Bible verses for the week

Encourage one another daily.
Hebrews 3:3

  2. That fence was a very nice place to take pictures. :-)

What are hot rocks? It is something you use to warm your food as you eat it? I've never seen or heard of it before.

    1. I think hot rocks are made from volcanic rock as they are black. They are heated up very hot in the oven - hot enough to cook a piece of steak on. The rock is brought to the table and you cook your own steak to your liking - it only takes a few minutes, or less if you like it raw. The rocks hold their heat, so for the entire meal I was keep quite warm from the heat coming off it!!They are quite popular in hotels, which is the only place I have had them.

    1. Bets, you have made my day - maybe because I feel young at heart. Loosing the weight has probably had some effect!! You can stop by anyway and make comments like this one :)

      Love Jo
