Wild hair
I know all about this!!!
But to thanks Marcel Grateau (a French hairdresser) for inventing the first hair straightener (known as the "flat iron") in 1872, I now have much more control over my hair (hair product also helps)!! However if the humidity increases to much, that's it, no hope at all. Up it goes into a bun or pony tail and that helps "control" the curl.
Modern hair straightener is much nicer than this is! |
Does your hair do its own thing?
Where did the notion come from that curls and frizz are not acceptable? Why can't people be happy with what God gave them?
ReplyDeleteNo one is happy with everything about themselves, we should be but we aren't. And I don't like looking like a mop!!!!'
DeleteI, for one, am very grateful for my flat iron, as I wouldn't want to look like the woman in the picture that you've shown above everyday. :)
ReplyDeleteGlad i am not alone!!!
DeleteHumidity plsays havoc for girls around here. I like curls, it's frizz thzt gets annoying. Not much hair to worry about here:-)
ReplyDeleteI have a fringe and when it gets humid it sticks out like handles and looks funny so I have to clip it back. Agree with the frizz that can drive me spare!!!!
DeleteLol. Plays and that. The keys are very small on my tablet.
ReplyDeleteOh yes I agree with that. Got to love curly hair, it looks fantastic in this hot north wind! I tend to stick with keeping my hair curly with gels etc as straightening dries it out too much.

When we were deciding where to move after Darwin I told my husband it had to be somewhere with low humidity as my hair preferred it. Hot dry days are the best for curls as they don't get so uptight.
DeleteMy hair does its own thing. I can't see it, so I don't worry about it too much (although if I happen to see myself in a mirror, I often despair because of the weird angles my hair sticks out at)... But who's to say that having flat hair should be the acceptable way to look? If everyone were to decide that frizzy sticking-out hair was the trend, people would be paying to make their hair do that!!!!!!! It's all about what people THINK is ok or acceptable, I guess, when it all comes down to it. HAHA
ReplyDeleteEver since I was a small girl I wanted straight hair. When the perm became fashionable I never wanted one as I couldn't figure out why anyone would pay for waves/curls ! Perhaps it is my ordered mind , but I like my hair to have some order too :)))) my mum has never understood this either .
