I have finally finished setting up my study . . . its only taken 7 months but now that it is done, it’s just as I imagined it. I particularly like the library of books along one wall!! The only things left to do (which won’t be done until summer) is painting all the doors white (including the cupboard doors) which are currently pale blue and not that great after boys stuck stickers on them. Monday and Tuesday evenings were spent moving books all around the house (tossing out those I no longer want, yes I was quite ruthless), I think it is almost right, just little tweaking then it should fine. Ruby, the cat certainly likes it, with the arm chair her favourite spot (she thinks I bought it for her).
Now we each have a room of our own – my husband’s study is very masculine and brown whilst mine is much more feminine and pretty. We use to share a study but it meant I couldn’t stretch out with things like my sewing, now I can leave the machine out and use it whenever I want, much more inclined to sew that way. This room has large cupboards and hidden away is all my craft items, fabric etc.. this is great as it means my room doesn't need to be overly cluttered with those sorts of things.

Its full - and some of those shelves a double stacked! The book case at the end contains all my cookbooks. |

A comfortable armchair and footrest in the corner by the window for when I want to curl up with a book. Its a very comfortable chair and will be well used for sure! |

My desk, computer and sewing machine. Where I am currently sitting writing to you. |
Love it...it looks like the perfect reading, relaxing and craft haven. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteIt is a very calm room and both Ruby and I enjoy curling up in that chair with a good book!!!
DeleteI saw a picture of me there!
ReplyDeleteLooks cosy, good on you! Was thinking about my future study the other day - not sure how I would decorate it, guess I have a few years to think about it =) =)
love,
Bets
The last time I had a space like this I was single, have waited a long time!!! Always wanted an arm chair and rows of books! Finally got it. It feels very cosy and warm which is what I like, it's very me I suppose:)) in spring I will have a beautiful view from the window which is also nice. Yes some family shots , that's the one you sent me:)
DeleteIt looks very cosy, relaxing, comfortable and homey - and also a wonderful place in which to do productive things!! :) Love it!! :)
ReplyDeleteIt feels very comfortable so I'm sure I will enjoy it. Once the cupboard doors are all white the room will look even more brighter. Now I just need to be creative!!! Need to get back toy sewing which I've had a break from recently!!
DeleteLovely! I especially like the blue wall, red chair and white shelves. What a great combination. I would be very happy to sit in your study. God bless you.
ReplyDeleteThanks heaps - the blue wall (the feature wall) is all that remains of the colour when my son use to have this room. I really liked the colour and decided to leave it. It does look great against the white of the book cases!! I am already enjoying my self in this room!!!
DeleteThanks for stopping by:))
Looks lovely :-)
ReplyDeleteIts working well and the cat loves it - so that is important!!!
