Art Friday: All things pink
I like pink - its such a pretty feminine colour.
I'm not alone with my love of pink, millions of little girls around the world love pink also, however, sadly, the feminist movement frowns upon girls if they are "too pink".
I do wear pink, but it tends to be the deep strong pink rather than the pale soft pink that a baby might wear.
Are you a pink kind of girl?
Here is a bit of fun with PINK!!

Fairies in art are often painted pink, perhaps to make them look delicate. |
|
Chinese art often contains pink flowers. |
|
Monet |
|
John William Waterhouse (above and below) often added pink to his paintings |

As for a pink house, probably not!! |

Susan Rios is quite the fan of pink and incorporates it into many of her paintings. |

Thank you for this lovely, lovely post. You are so right--girls now are taught to eschew this beautiful color--as they are taught to eschew their femininity. I love pink and so does our daughter. We are grateful to our marvelous Lord and Creator for making us (women) unique and special.
ReplyDeleteKeep on wearing pink and enjoying it, it doesn't matter what others think :))))
DeleteYou are so good at themed art posts, Jo! And you do collages also. I think they've become an addiction with me.
ReplyDeleteYes, I love pink, have always loved it. Pink, dusty rose . . . shades of pink by any name. And I treasure my everyday china pattern, Desert Rose.
So glad you love pink as much as I do :)))) and so glad you enjoy these art Fridays :)
DeleteHave a wonderful weekend.
I LOVE pink. Lots of shades of pink.
ReplyDeleteAs for the art, I love the Susan Rios roses, and I love the painting of the mother and daughter reading together - so soft and feminine! :)
Pink is a happy colour and one can't feel sad wearing pink - my theory anyway!!!
DeleteAll gorgeous though I am partial to the John William Waterhouse :) I also love pink but find that I display it more in my home than wearing it... Such a pretty post today Jo!
ReplyDeleteJohn William Waterhouse is also my favourite, I love his art and how he can make fabric and hair move in the wind. I don't have a lot of pink in my house, I tend to have more red, but i do like to wear it!
DeleteOh! I also love pink...any shade! And these paintings are all so beautiful and unique - how sweet of you to share with us! Blessings!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you enjoyed these paintings :)) Drop by next Friday for another artist/theme.
DeletePink and lavender are my favorite colors always definitely !!
ReplyDeleteMine too :))
DeleteWhat a beautiful, relaxing post. My youngest daughter loves pink and her wardrobe is probably about 80% various shades of pink.
ReplyDeleteThankyou so much glad you enjoyed it. Pink is such a fun colour :))
DeleteLove the roses, they are my favourite flower. I like pink but like you it is usually a darker, deeper colour that I wear. Thanks for linking up at Good Morning Mondays. Blessings
ReplyDeleteI love the deep pink in winter, it is such a warm colour.
