Art Friday: Greta Guzek

Art Friday: Greta Guzek

I love colour and that is the reason why I was attracted to these - they are so bright, cheerful and bold.

Great completed a Fine Arts Degree in South Africa where she grew up, and then moved in 1980 to Vancouver working as a designer and illustrator. Since 1990 Greta has lived and worked as a painter and art instructor from her studio in Gibsons.

  1. Even though these aren't done in my usual favourite style of painting, I really like them! I love the bright, bold colours! I think she would make an excellent children's book illustrator. Children would love these kinds of pictures in books. :)

    1. Even though she uses a lot of bright colours so also uses a range of pastel colours too which I really like. They would be lovely in a children's book :))

  2. I like them too. Water in a painting appeals to me, and though these aren't realistic - which I prefer, I do like these!

    1. I love the light on the trees such as in the last painting - even with the broad paint strokes it feels like the evening light.
