Encouraging bible verses

In yesterday's blog I wrote about the importances of being an encourager to others and tomorrow I have written a post about the importances of encouraging your husband. Today I thought I would look a few bible verses that are so encouraging to you. Because whilst it is important to encourage others, you too need all the encouragement you can get as you travel through your journey in life . . . and the Bible is the ONLY place to find it.

The Lord wants us to encourage others and to help us do that, He provides many many verses on this very topic and through encouraging us, we can encourage others.

What does encouraging mean

. . .  giving someone support or confidence; supportive.

. . .  positive and giving hope for future success

And that is what God does through His word such as the bible verse below. Nothing can separate us from the love of God, no matter where we are, what we are doing or what others are doing around us. This is an amazing verse to carry with us always.

Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.  For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
(Romans 8:37-39)

How about this one — this is one of my favourites, it is so comforting and encouraging when things are tough. The bible is full of verses like this one and whenever we need Words of encouragement we only need to open the Book. It really is that easy and it doesn't cost us anything and we can do it at any time of the night or day.

Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.”
(Deuteronomy 31:6)
Having a tough day at home or at work — don't we all have days that are more stressful and depressing? This is a wonderful verse to read when life isn't going to plan. I have sat at my desk at work feeling very overwhelmed and this has provided all the comfort and encouragement I have needed. Its like a weight lifted from my shoulders.

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
(John 14:27)
We all know this one and it is much loved. For those in the USA selecting your next president, some will be feeling very anxious about the possible choices you may have before you (I think the rest of the world is feeling a little anxious too). Don't panic, God has it in control — but remember, that doesn't mean you will get the person of your chose (or even someone who is a Christian), it means God know what He is doing, even if it doesn't make sense to us. He does teach us lessons in the strangest of ways and then tells us not be anxious, just trust Him.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7)
I have only selected 4 verses from many that I could have included. God encourages us every day and we need to use that encouragement that He gives us and spread it around like confetti.

  1. I love every, single one of the verses you chose...and so many, many others. God's Word is so precious to me, and I lean upon it continually. It is our roadmap from earth to Heaven, and how precious indeed it is that it has been preserved down through the ages, and we can hold it in our hands! Have a blessed day in Him!
