One of the greatest tragedies of life is to take things for granted, blissfully ignorant of the fact that nothing is permanent in this world. Cherish things while you still have them, before they're gone, and you realize how precious they really are. (author unknown)

If my life surroundered to God,
all is well.
Let me not grab it back, as though
it were in peril
in His hand but would be safer in mine.

I chose these 2 photos of the gardens in Lisse, Netherlands as I could see myself wandering through, alone, enjoying the tranquility of nature.
Aren't they so restful.

May you all, dear blogging friends have a wonderful weekend.

  1. Okay, these words have NEVER I repeat NEVER come out of my mouth.
"I want to go the Netherlands!"
    How beautiful those pictures are.
And I love the quote to go with them. Very beautiful.
    Have a great weekend.

  2. Those are absolutely gorgeous and serene photographs.
I fancy I might enjoy such a stroll myself and to comtemplate my complete dependence on the Lord.

  3. Gorgeous photos, and such a true thought. It is so easy to fall into complacency and start taking things for granted. But each day is a gift from God!

We went to Keukenhoff Gardens last year. They were breathtaking. The only problem was, there were about a zillion other people there as well. Still, they were magnificent.

  4. The pictures are breathtaking! Such an encouraging quote from Elisabeth Elliot, too. I'm currently reading her The Shaping of a Christian Family, and it's one of my favorite books now. Found you through Jeanne's blog. Your blog is so beautiful. :)

  5. Hi Trisha - thanks so much for dropping by. I also have a copy of "The Shaping of a Christian Family" and was only looking at it the other day. Yes, I agree - it is a book worth reading. My mum gave me my copy.

Stacey - so often beautiful places are overcrowded by people. We have Tulip show in my city and the flowers look so beautiful, but you can't stand and admire as so many people want to also have a look. Its almost impossible taking a photo without people in it!!

Kim, The Netherlands wasn't on my list of holiday destinations until I saw these beautiful photos. One day perhaps.

    God Bless to you all.

    xx

  7. Hi Jo,
My life this week has been totally surrendered to God and His will, and it has been a very different week without my blogging friends.

We have been playing games and our Teddy Bears' Picnic was absolutely wonderful. :)

    Have a wonderful weekend,
    Love and blessings, Jillian ♥

  8. I love this quote Jo... I have enjoyed reading Elisabeth Elliott's book "Through Gates of Splendour" (I think that is the correct title)...

I love the photos you chose to compliment your thoughts.
