Only one mother

Most of all the other beautiful things in life comes twos and three, by dozens and hundreds.
Plenty of roses, stars, sunsets, rainbows, brothers, and sisters, aunts and cousins
but only
one mother
in the whole world.

Kate Douglas Wiggin

  1. yes, only one... and how I miss her! :( Never take your mother for granted... it's just not the same without her. She is so very special.

  2. I'm with Clara!

  3. That is lovely, both poem and picture. I will copy that if you don't mind.
I am very thankful to still have my mother. She is definately a one and only!

  4. Jo,
I love this. :) Where do you get your lovely pictures and graphics? This one is so, so heartwarming.

  5. Trisha - I waste many hours searching for pictures which I then store away until I need them. This one I found by searching for "mothers" under imagines. I thought it was beautiful.

Ruby - please use both - the poem was found in a great book called "The Fruitful Vine" by Warren Henderson (I reviewed it a couple of weeks ago) and tucked away at the back was these words.

  6. A wonderful tribute. My Mom was the most lovely person. I miss her every day.
