The sun still shines

Even in winter, even in the midst of the storm,
the sun is still there.
Somewhere, up above the clouds,
it still shines and warms and pulls
at the life buried deep inside the
brown branches and frozen earth.
The sun is there! Spring will come!
The clouds cannot stay forever!

Looking forward to spring, but for us to get spring all those on the other side of the world will need to farewell summer and head into their Autumn/Fall!  Our winter thus far has brought higher than normal rain fall and I thank God for His wonderful gift of rain that is filling our dams for the first time in years.  We will enter summer with far more water than normal and my garden will feel very blessed.

May you all have a wonderful God filled weekend, with joy and laughter plus time to put your feet up and relax.

My Saturday will be a little busy, with a trip to the vet at 9:30am (just a checkup), voting (for our next Federal Government), grocery shopping (my family expect to be fed!!) and a trip to the Westfield Shopping Centre for a few odds and sodds!!  Then in the evening I am off to (don't laugh) "Sing-a-long" Sound of Music with my theatre ladies (our husbands do not like this sort of thing!) - I will sing to my hearts content all those wonderful songs from the musical  . . .

Climb every mountain,
Search high and low,
Follow every highway,
Every path you know.

So long, farewell . . Auf Wiedersehen, goodnight

  1. I love that blue bells photo. Superb!!

  2. The picture is beautiful! Have a great weekend singing along with your friends! :o)

  3. the top pic sure is pretty.
I'm looking forward to the official start of spring in more ways than one - literally and figuratively.
    Have a good weekend, Jo.

  4. Spring has already sprung here but I guess it's a bit later down where you are:) you have a lovely weekend too Jo!
btw, my dd has been "singing" the songs of Sound of Music here too of late! (she can read all the words to the songs from the back of the dvd cover:))

  5. We won't get spring for at least 2 months - August is the windy month (and it is certainly windy today, icy cold) and September is only slightly warmer. It can be quite cool until late October.

However the the bulbs are all beginning to flower (which adds colour to a currently drab garden) and will go through until November/December.

  6. Jo, I hope you have an absolute ball with your friends! I can just imagine you singing along and enjoying yourself!

Looking forward to hearing about it soon.

  7. The sing-a-long sounds like great fun. My mom likes to tell the story of how she had to caution me, at the age of four, that I could not sing along with the actors when we went to see a stage production of The Music Man - my very favorite show. Not yet big enough to hold down a chair, I sat on a pile of coats and purses in order to be big enough to see! I apparently mouthed the words along with most of the pieces, but never actually uttered a note. I bet my mother was relieved!
