Trust and Obey
When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will, He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.
Refrain:
Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.
Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away;
Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh or a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey.
Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross,
But is blessed if we trust and obey.
But we never can prove the delights of His love
Until all on the altar we lay;
For the favor He shows, for the joy He bestows,
Are for them who will trust and obey.
Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet,
Or we’ll walk by His side in the way;
What He says we will do, where He sends we will go;
Never fear, only trust and obey.

ReplyDeleteLove, Mrs. A
Thankyou Zim for dropping by. Our God is so great - may you have a blessed weekend.
ReplyDeleteI love that hymn - and so do the children, especially Danny. We sing to the children in the dark when we tuck them in bed, and Danny will make a request for 'Trust and obey'. :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful Hymn...and it was just yesterday that I was singing the chorus to my husband reminding him of how his nanna sang this to him! xxx
ReplyDeleteSarah and Clara- it is such a beautiful and I am glad you enjoyed it today.
ReplyDeleteBlessings for the coming week
Wonderful song to be sung from the heart.
ReplyDeleteI have added myself to follow your blog. You are more than welcome to visit my blog and become a follower also.
Thank you...this was one of the first hymns I learned to play with both hands on the piano!
ReplyDeleteWonderful songs those old hymns...full of such truths!
This is one of my favorite hymns. My heart always soars with determination when singing the last verse...especially in a congregation where the singing is robust.
