A mothers love

So don't compare yourself to other mothers in "Blogland" and think you are doing a bad job because you do things differently to them. We are all different people, some of us work outside the home during the day, others are at home, some come from very different backgrounds and we probably all have different ways of doing things. None of these things make us lesser mothers.  In the end - all that matters is the love we give our children.

  1. I have always been different. =)
I don't fight against comparing myself to others, but have to keep in mind that I just need to do the best I can with God's help, and not be upset if I am not 100% perfect. I have what are probably ridiculous ideals of how a mother SHOULD be, so this is important for me.
And even if today didn't quite go the way it should have, if God so wills there is always tomorrow to try again!
    Must email you soon,
    love,
    Bets

    1. CHildren are very forgiving and don't see our faults or when things don't go as smoothly as we think they should. They not even too fussy if we serve a basic meal, rather than something very fancy. All they want is a happy cheer mum that loved them heaps:))

  3. So true, Jo. SO much better not to compare ourselves to anyone else - mother or not!!! :) I think TOO many people forget just how different each child is - and that definitely makes a big difference and changes how we mother our child(ren) - as well as the other differences/circumstances mentioned above. :)

    1. I use to compare my children to others and feel bad because they didn't go off to university or top their class but in the end all that mattered was their happiness and they most certainly didn't want to be compared to someone else.

  5. Love is the greatest emotion. Until we have "grown" our children we do not realise what a challenge this journey will be.

As mine continue to leave the nest and marry I am reminded of this every day...and I am not to compare even when they aren't home anymore
