Fear thou not; for I am with thee

 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed ; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
Isaiah 41:10

***

In remembrance for the tragic loss of 20 young lives at the Sandy Hook Primary School in Connecticut and to the adults who would have tried so hard to protect these children.  Dear Heavenly Father, give all those that have suffered the strength and comfort that is needed at a time like this.

Its a very sad world.

~ To all those suffering, in my prayers ~

***

Abide with me; fast falls the eventide;
the darkness deepens; Lord, with me abide.
When other helpers fail and comforts flee,
Help of the helpless, O abide with me.

Swift to its close ebbs out life's little day;
earth's joys grow dim; its glories pass away;
change and decay in all around I see;
O thou who changest not, abide with me.

I need thy presence every passing hour.
What but thy grace can foil the tempter's power?
Who, like thyself, my guide and stay can be?
Through cloud and sunshine, Lord, abide with me.

I fear no foe, with thee at hand to bless;
ills have no weight, and tears not bitterness.
Where is death's sting? Where, grave, thy victory?
I triumph still, if thou abide with me.

Hold thou thy cross before my closing eyes;
shine through the gloom and point me to the skies.
Heaven's morning breaks, and earth's vain shadows flee;
in life, in death, O Lord, abide with me.

  4. Amen! I have been praying but have not followed it closely as I find these stories too disturbing and depressing. Terrible terrible tragedy.

    1. I need to as its part of my job but after spending a day looking at gun deaths in the USA, it makes me cross that they won't change their laws:(

  5. I'm with you about the gun laws, Jo - it irritates me immensely. Some people will get hold of guns no matter what, but we really don't seem to have as much of a problem with massacres here as they do in USA where they tout the advantages of owning guns so freely.
    So very sad. I sure hope the tragedy brings some lost souls to the LORD.

    1. So do I Clara, but it will make some people more fanatical about their guns - a unhealthy obsession with their guns.
