Organising scarfs

One thing I love about blogland is the ideas you can gather from other ladies. After visiting "The Modest Mum Blog" and reading about a great way to store scarves (the original idea came from Pinterest), I thought I would give it a go as I am tired of my scarves getting creased all the time and not being able to find one quickly.  I already had a portable towel rack (the sort that hangs over a door which I bought from Howard's Storage World) so it was quite easy to do.

My rack has three rails, I only used 2. I was surprised at how many scarves I could squeeze on one rail.
At the moment it is on my study door and what great colours to look at!!

If you don't have a towel rail like this one, you can use a towel rail that you can buy from the hardware store. You can buy the sort that self adhered or screw the rail to the inside of the door.  From now on I won't have any problems finding a scarf and will quickly find what I need in the morning without any hassle or pain!!

  2. Such beautiful scarves! Do you wear them often? I would be so interested in knowing how you wear them because I am always trying to add color to my basic grey/brwn/black wardrobe. Also, that rack looks like artwork!

    1. I do in the cooler months and they are great for jazzing up a plain t-shirt. I might do a blog on different ways I wear them!! I love colour and these scarves for the trick:)) When its really cold I wear Pashminas that are also very colourful.

    1. Thankyou - I have been collecting them for a number of years and have a mix of colours. At the moment they are on the study door and do add a splash of colour when you enter!

    1. Thanks Ruby - I quite often wear them to work with a t-shirt and skirt. They cover up bumps I don't want people to see:)

  6. I love scarfs and I'm always looking out for them - but too often they are SO pricey - and low on my list of priorities to buy!! ;) Yours are beautiful, and that's a great way to store them! :)

  7. Clara - some were my mothers, I even have a few from Auntie Helen (that mum had - so they are getting on in age), some came from the $$ shop and some were quite expensive - but I try not to spend too much.

    1. Mine were all in a box and whenever I needed one I had to hunt through making a bigger mess. They would also get creased and then I would have to iron them. This is so much easier and looks pretty at the same time.
