Contentment

Contentment: two hardworking and dedicated parents enjoying time together in my garden (Indian Myrna birds).

When you feel dissatisfied with your circumstances,
contemplate the condition of those that have less than you.

"I had rather be in a cottage with my books, my family, and a few old friends, dining upon simply bacon and hominy, and letting the world roll on as it likes, than to occupy the highest place which human power can give."

My thoughts entirely.

  1. I'm very slowly recuperating from back fusion surgery for 2 weeks and I'm having a difficult time with contentment, so this is perfect timing for me. I have a cardinal family that has been visiting my balcony bird feeder. I've never heard of your birds. I shall look them up.

    1. I do hope your recovery goes well, it must be hard at times. My neighbour has put up a bird feeder and every night when I come home it' over flowing with birds. Lovely to see.

  2. Very good advice, Jo. Contentment is something we all have to work on I think... Certainly makes you feel happier when you cultivate it though!

    1. Doesn't a cottage full of books sound so lovely, I would add an English cottage garden and a cat or two and be very content !!
