What's new in your kitchen?
This is a segment that Sandy from "Vegans Eat Yummy Food Too" does sometimes and I quite like the idea. In fact her latest one was on measuring cups and mugs (link) and yes, she has quite the collection. I have 3 sets of measuring cups and had no plans to buy any more, however whilst I was out shopping on the weekend I came across the coolest set of measuring cups (I thought they were cool!!) and I am now the proud owner of these colourful bowls.
They aren't just nice to look at, they will be very handy. The blue cup is large enough for 2 cups and has the marks for both a 1 and 2 cup. The green is 1.5 cups or 3/4 cup, red is 1 cup of 1/2 cup, orange 1/2 cup or 1/4 cup and the baby yellow is 1/4 cup or 1/8. Interestedly, there is no 1/3 of a cup!!
Due to their various sizes and the fact that they are bowls, I think I will also use them for all sorts of other things besides measuring - they will be much used in my kitchen.
These are the other favourite measuring cups I own and when not in use they stand as a happy family on my shelf.
But whilst on the topic of measuring cups, I found these two online - aren't they gorgeous measuring cups. I really must have a look around and see if they are available in Australia.

Oh those flower shaped bowls are lovely! I don't technically need any more kitchen equipment - don't have room either! x
ReplyDeletei don't technically need any more either, but my do give my sons (who have both left home) my older things which they eagerly take and then I can upgrade!! So all in all I am not adding to my collection:))

DeleteI think I'm very boring when it comes to measuring cups. Just Tupperware and some cheap clear one... I do like your new colourful ones very much - they would be very handy!!! :)

I just LOVE those cat ones! I will have to try find them.....
When you do, let me know!!!! Those new cups have already been used a number of times and yes, they are turning out to be really useful.
DeleteWhat a great find. I confess that is one thing I would collect, if I collected anything. Love those flower cups. The cutest I've seen are shaped as tea cups.
ReplyDeleteThe flower cups remind me of a set of small salad bowls I own that once belonged to my grandmother (in yellow and green) - and now almost 100 years old. I think thats why I was attracted to them in the first place. I will have a look around and see if I can find them anywhere.
